Types of Peaches

Clingstone Variety – The first Georgia peaches to mature are the clingstone variety — the kind of peach with flesh that clings to the pit — kicking off the state’s peach season.

Semi-Cling  Variety – These early season peaches have some characteristics of both the clingstone and freestone peaches. They combine the sweetness of clingstone peaches with the easiness of freestones for a highly desirable peach.

Freestone Variety – These popular peaches have tender flesh that falls away from the peach’s pit, allowing sweet peach juice to drip down your chin.
